WE WEAR THE MASKS
Neli (I took the first few letters from New and Life): The Inspiration

My inspiration for Neli comes from motherhood. I have always been a person that’s been very independent some would say a lone wolf. Learning I would be a parent was a life changing moment in my life. Different thoughts went through my head like I will now be responsible for another human being, how will my everyday life change? how do you even take care of a newborn? Am I ready to be a parent? After having my son all the worries, I had disappeared. None of those thoughts crossed my mind because it all came to me naturally. The love I have for him, the protection I have over him, the need to want to do better in every aspect in my life was all I had on my mind. My son is the best thing that has ever happened to me. On my mask Neli, I put the Akoko Nan symbol to represent protectiveness as a mother but also show moral values to my child.
