WE WEAR THE MASKS
My inspiration for creating this mask came from the art I saw while traveling in Ghana and visiting many different artisan markets that showcase the local artists’ work. I attempted to capture the bright colors often used in art as well as face paint for this mask.
Shreya Bhalla is from Basking Ridge, NJ. She is a third year Behavioral Neuroscience and Spanish Major. She was a participant in the 2021 Dialogue of Civilizations to Ghana in Summer 2. She painted this mask the following Fall semester 2021 when she was one of the students in the We Wear the Mask Studio which is when she painted this mask. The following Summer 2022, Shreya was a program coordinator and teaching assistant for the Dialogue of Civilizations to Ghana.
